Buddha Qualities
Know the qualities we want to achieve.
We can never completely describe the qualities of the buddha. A bird can fly far and high, but it can never exhaust all of space.
Think about the suffering of sentient beings. Who can give us protection? Again and again, recall the great qualities of the Three Jewels.
We must attain these qualities for the sake of all sentient beings.
Buddha has more qualities than us. Remember this when doing prostrations.
Buddha knows the result of every action in precise detail [cause and effect].
Buddha is never in a bad mood.
Unceasing enlightened activity is buddha quality.
Buddha has mind that wants to benefit.
Buddha has continuous compassion. As long as sentient beings remain, buddha will remain.
Only buddha can turn the wheel of dharma. You need Buddha qualities to do that.
Buddha is able to teach without mistakes.
Buddha knows what teachings are suitable for beings.
Everything the buddha says or does has some meaning.
One verse of dharma can liberate countless beings.
Buddha is not afraid to proclaim he has attained wisdom.
Buddha can manifest anywhere in samsara to benefit beings.
Buddha can teach in any language. Buddha is the teacher.
Buddha can emanate in any form to benefit beings -
a common person, an animal, tree, waves, sound of wind passing through trees.
Buddha knows what is possible and what is not possible.
Buddha knows when the time is right. Truth has to be said at the right time, otherwise it can harm.
Buddha knows our predispositions.
Buddha treats beings without bias -
buddhists and non-
buddhists alike. Buddha has no favorites.
Buddha is liberated from samsara and nirvana. This is why buddha is source of refuge.
Buddha has unobstructed clairvoyance of past, present and future.
Buddha is beyond birth and death.
Buddha has worked for three countless aeons. This is very rare This is why we say the Three Jewels are rare.
