Cyclic Existence / Circle of Samsara
Understand the nature of existence in samsara. Then we will want to take refuge.
Practice will become more effective.
Wish to end the cycle of suffering, not just suffering.
Nature of samsara is suffering. It is not happiness and suffering.
Liberate the mind from cyclic existence. This means liberate the mind from attachment
and aversion.
Brith, old age, sickness, death, separation from loved ones. Over and over again.
The is the nature of beings in cyclic existence.
Rebirth is without choice.
We circle because of self-grasping.
Develop awareness of what samsara is. How else can determination to be free arise?
There is no destination in samsara where there is happiness.
Reincarnation means mind takes another body. It is not something exotic.
Upper realms are not free. We have to accumulate virtue.
Understand what makes this a cycle.
After we have died we are forced to take another rebirth. We don’t just vanish. This
is why we need to accumulate positive actions and stay away from negative actions.
Cyclic existence is not just 100 or 1000 times. It is endless. Unless you put a stop.
Renounce the god realms as well. They are impermanent.
Bodhisattva aspiration is to free all beings from cyclic existence.
Birth and death is cyclic – this is the ultimate problem. Use dharma to solve this.
Samsara has cyclic nature. Suffering repeats. Happiness is impermanent.
Take responsibility to release sentient beings from cyclic existence, engage them
into path. Have of a sense of desperation, due to their suffering.
Birth and death does not mark the boundary of our existence.
To notice you are wandering in cyclic existence is a realization.
You have responsibility to bring sentient beings out of samsara.
There are others in cyclic existence.
Refuge cannot be found in cyclic existence.
When we die, our mind merges with emptiness. But due to attachment, we come back
to cyclic existence, again and again.
We are in the prison of cyclic existence.
Understand the nature of cyclic existence. Happiness will change into suffering.
Gods of sun and moon will be reborn in dark places.
Develop tiredness of samsaric existence.
We are in bodhisattva school. Samsara is bodhisattva playground.
Don’t be indifferent to beings – keep sharply in mind the reality of sentient existence.
Nature of samsara is not different between god realms and hell realms.
These sentient beings – our own mothers in previous lives. Each creature has been
our parent.
This wheel keeps on turning.
Why are we in cyclic existence? Because we grasp.
Even gods have to leave their body and transmigrate.
There is no place we have not been born many, many times.
What binds us is grasping.
Today we are human. Tomorrow we may be an animal.
We will change many bodies.
Benefit others in a profound way - out of cyclic existence.
Dharma is not for problems of this life.
These beings have been kind.
How long has samsara been going on? Since beginningless time.
Our rebirth depends on karma, not wishes or choice.
Samsara is a synonym for belief in ‘self’.
We are a wandering mindstream. We have been born and died countless times.
The continuity of our mind is beginningless.
We wander from womb to womb. This is how we came to be associated with our present
mother.
Realize no matter where we are born, there will be suffering.
Treat all sentient beings as children and consider yourself parent.
