Prostrations
Watch thangka very carefully for 5 minutes. Then do prostrations.
When doing prostrations in the morning, feel that you are taking refuge. When doing
prostrations in the evening, feel that you are purifying negative deeds of the day.
Faith, devotion, compassion are prostrations.
When it comes to prostrations, faith and devotion are principal. Prostration is support
to increase conviction in the Three Jewels.
When you enter the shrine room, prostration itself is an offering. Think “May I and
all beings attain enlightenment.”
Offering prostrations is generosity.
Doing them properly is discipline.
Tolerating hardships is patience.
Having joy is diligence.
Not being distracted is concentration.
Subject and object is without self-nature is wisdom.
