Sleep
As you go to bed, if you develop a strong urge to practice dharma, that is a sign of progress.
Make sleep virtuous. Don’t sleep with thoughts of attachment and aversion.
Sleep with awareness. Resolve “I will maintain awareness.”
Sleep no more than 5 hours. Get up for all sentient beings. Give rise to bodhicitta.
Fall asleep without fixating. Wake up without self-
clinging.
When you are sleepy and tired, Turn the mind.
Aspire to see the dream state. If you can recognize the dream state, you can recognize the bardo state.
Aspire to bring remembrance of buddha, dharma, sangha in dream.
In dream you can visit other continents, multiply offerings, receive teachings, request empowerment, travel to lower realms to rescue beings.
“Let me get up and do some dharma practice.”
Be glad to wake up. Remind yourself you still have the opportunity.
