Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche

“Tibetan word ‘retreat’ means ‘to stop and take a break’. You take a break from non-virtuous actions. You stop thinking about many things and you meditate. You use speech to accomplish mantra. The meaning of ‘retreat’ and ‘meditate’ is the same. When you sit down and meditate, you are in retreat. But if you are in isolated place and your mind is wandering, you are not in retreat. When you sit down to practice, make each session a retreat.” - Nyima Gyaltsen Rinpoche

During his 2008 visit Nyima Rinpoche taught the Chenrezig practice almost everywhere he was invited. This is a set of recordings of teachings he gave at Sakya Dokho Choling in MD. The translations were done long distance over the phone. The first day (File 1 and File 2) the translator was a Tibetan and in Tibet. The rest of the sessions (File 3 to File 16) were translated by Douglas Duckworth from South Carolina. The situation for teacher, translator and students was challenging. Still, this will be a treasure if you can listen. (13 hrs, 45 min, Tib and Eng)
